Dr. Bruce Campbell, MD

Chief Medical Officer

I was raised in Cookeville, Tennessee, and earned my medical degree from East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine. After completing my residency in Emergency Medicine, I spent more than 20 years caring for patients in emergency departments, where I developed extensive experience managing complex wounds and acute medical conditions.

Today, I’m proud to be part of Empowered Health Wound and Foot Care, where I apply my background in emergency medicine to provide expert, compassionate care for patients with acute and chronic wounds. I’m passionate about helping individuals heal, regain comfort, and improve their quality of life.

Jonathan Kamar, DMSc-S, PA-C, MHS, EM-CAQ, RT

Chief Administrative Officer

Jonathan Kamar is a nationally board-certified physician assistant dually licensed with specialized expertise in Emergency Medicine, Addiction Medicine, and Wound Care. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Radiography from East Tennessee State University (ETSU) and his Master of Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies from South College. He is currently completing his Doctorate of Medical Science (DMSc) with a clinical concentration in Emergency Medicine at Lincoln Memorial University (LMU). Mr. Kamar serves as the Assistant Medical Director at a local Emergency Department, President and CEO of Total Recovery Medical Center, and Chief Administrative Officer for Empowered Health Wound & Foot Care. Deeply committed to serving the community where he was born and raised, he is passionate about advancing healthcare access and quality across East Tennessee.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Kamar enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, who he considers his greatest blessings. His passions extend beyond medicine to entrepreneurship and exploring the great outdoors.

Heath Tunnell, FNP-BC, CWCN-AP, WCS-C, EDS-C, WOCN

Chief Executive Officer

Heath Tunnell is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (WOCN) board certified, and owner/provider of a Empowered Health Wound and Foot Care in Knoxville, Tennessee. With specialized training in wound and foot care from Emory University, he has been practicing in this field for over a decade, delivering advanced, compassionate treatment for chronic wounds, diabetic foot issues, ulcers, and more.

Additionally, as the founder of Empowered Health, Heath integrates his wound and foot care expertise into holistic primary care, emphasizing root-cause solutions, personalized plans, and patient empowerment beyond traditional medicine. His evidence-based, approachable style has earned him outstanding reviews as one of Knoxville's top providers. He offers in-person visits in Knoxville and telemedicine across Tennessee for wound consultations, foot care, preventive health, and chronic management.

When he isn’t practicing, Heath enjoys exploring the Great Smoky Mountains, staying active, and spending quality time with his wife and 4 children.

Casey Boring, FNP

Clinical Provider

With more than 20 years of experience in emergency medicine, Casey brings a deep, practical understanding of patient care across fast-paced and high-acuity settings. His medical career began as an EMT, providing a strong foundation in emergency response and hands-on clinical decision-making.

Amanda Tunnell

Practice Director & HR

As the Practice Manager for Empowered Health Wound and Foot Care, Amanda leads the daily operations of a growing, patient-centered wound care practice.

With over five years of experience in the wound care industry and over 12 years of education, Amanda brings deep operational insight and a strong leadership presence to her role. She oversees strategic coordination with channel partners, guides and supports clinical and administrative teams, and ensures that workflows align with the practice’s mission of delivering exceptional wound and foot care.

Her additional passions include staying active, spending time with her husband and kids, and deepening her faith journey.
